Live-fire shooting range maintenance

A live-fire range works with live ammunition every day. Over time, lanes and targets, bullet traps and baffles, ventilation and lighting wear out. Timely maintenance keeps shooters and instructors safe and prevents lanes from going out of service.

RGM Advanced designs, builds and equips live-fire ranges, so we know every system from the inside. We offer preventive and corrective maintenance for security forces, government institutions and private ranges in Mexico.

What's included

What we check during maintenance

We inspect the whole range, system by system, and give you a report with what we found and what should be addressed.

  1. 01

    Lanes and targets

Rails, target carriers, target turning, cables and mechanisms, so they move without jamming.

  2. 02

Condition of the steel and granulated rubber, off-target impacts, cleaning and removal of accumulated lead.

  3. 03

Structure, ballistic glass, folding shelves and lighting of each booth.

  5. 05

    Lighting, sirens and strobes

Operation of lights, alerts and strobes and their sync with the master control.

  6. 06

    Instructor controls

Touch screen, software and communication with the lanes; configuration adjustments and updates.

Preventive and corrective

Two ways to keep your range running

Preventive: scheduled visits based on how your range is used (rounds fired, calibers and operating hours) to catch wear before it becomes a failure.

Corrective: when something stops working, we fix it and leave it operating with the proper safety tests. If the damage is greater, it becomes a repair.

FAQ

Questions about shooting range maintenance

How often does a live-fire range need maintenance?

It depends on use: rounds fired, calibers, operating hours and type of trap. During the assessment we set a schedule for your range.

Do you service ranges not installed by RGM Advanced?

Yes. We start with an assessment to learn which systems are installed and tell you what we can service.

Why is it important to check the bullet trap and baffles?

Because they contain the projectiles. A worn plate or a damaged baffle increases the risk of ricochets and fragmentation.

Does maintenance include ventilation?

Yes. We check supply, extraction, filters and ducts: clean air at the firing line is part of range safety.

Do you work with Spire Ranges equipment?

Yes. RGM Advanced is an authorized Spire Ranges distributor in Mexico, so we can quote equipment and parts from that brand.
